Discover Davines: Which Haircare Collection Is Right for You?
Not sure which Davines range is right for your hair? We break down Essential Haircare, OI, Heart of Glass and Naturaltech to help you find the best fit.
Davines has built a loyal following for good reason. The family-owned Italian brand is known for salon-quality haircare, but it also puts a lot of thought into how its products are made, from the ingredients it uses to its approach to sustainability.
The brand is B Corp certified, uses 100% renewable electricity and favours natural-origin ingredients across its formulas. But with several different collections to choose from, it can be hard to know which range is actually right for your hair. So, we’ve broken down the main Davines collections, what makes each one different and who they’re best suited to.
Essential Haircare
Essential Haircare is not one single formula family. Instead, it is made up of smaller collections designed around different hair types and everyday concerns. That means you can choose according to what your hair actually needs...
- MOMO focuses on hydration for dry or dehydrated hair
- NOUNOU is designed to nourish hair that has been damaged or stressed by treatments such as bleaching and highlighting.
- LOVE Smoothing is created for frizzy or unruly hair.
- LOVE Curl focuses on definition and elasticity for waves and curls.
Many of the formulas feature ingredients grown in Italy through Slow Food Presidia, which helps protect traditional crops, support small-scale producers and preserve local biodiversity.
What makes it different? Its breadth. This is the Davines collection that lets you build an everyday routine around your individual hair type or concern.
Best suited to: anyone who wants their shampoo and conditioner to address a clear everyday need, from dehydration and frizz to curls, volume or damage.

OI
Rather than being divided by hair concern, it is centred around what Davines describes as 'absolute beauty', with softness, shine, smoothness and manageability at the heart of the collection.
The signature ingredient across OI is Roucou oil, extracted from the seeds of the Achiote plant. It is naturally rich in carotenoids and antioxidants, and Davines uses it throughout the range to help protect the hair while improving softness and shine.
The collection also extends beyond wash-day basics. With a firm favourite, OI All In One Milk combines hydration, detangling, frizz control and heat protection, while OI Oil can be used to smooth and finish the lengths without weighing them down.
What makes it different? More finish-led, with multi-purpose formulas designed to improve the overall look and feel of the hair.
Best suited to: anyone prioritising softness, shine and manageability, particularly if hair feels dull, coarse or frizz-prone. Because the collection is designed for all hair types, it can also sit alongside a more targeted shampoo or treatment routine.
Heart of Glass
Blonde hair can be more prone to dryness and breakage. It can also develop unwanted changes in tone over time. Heart of Glass is designed around those combined needs. One of its defining ingredients is Jagua blue extract, which Davines uses as a naturally derived alternative to synthetic pigments to help balance unwanted tones in both natural and cosmetically treated blonde hair.
Strength is another important part of the range. Products across Heart of Glass use Davines’ Biacidic Bond Complex, developed to help support and protect weakened hair fibres, alongside ingredients such as baobab extract and amino complexes to improve hydration, elasticity and shine.
What makes it different? It combines tone care with strengthening, hydration and protection specifically for blonde and lightened hair.
Best suited to: natural blondes, highlights, balayage, bleached and lightened hair, particularly where maintaining brightness and condition are equally important.
Naturaltech
Naturaltech is built to support the scalp and restore a healthier balance at the roots. That includes concerns such as dandruff, excess oil and hair loss, with different products and treatment systems created around the issue being addressed. It makes Naturaltech feel closer to a scalp-care programme than a traditional cosmetic haircare range.
What makes it different? It starts with the condition of the scalp or root of the concern, rather than simply the appearance of the lengths.
Best suited to: anyone experiencing a persistent or more specific hair or scalp concern who wants a routine built around addressing it.
So, Which Davines Collection Should You Choose?
You can mix between collections. Your shampoo might come from Essential Haircare or Naturaltech, while an OI leave-in or oil takes care of the finish. Explore the full Davines collection at Luxurious Look to build a routine around what your hair actually needs.
